It's an ELECTION!!!

Okay! I know a lot of people are already sick of this election year & I am sorry but it's time to get on my soap box!

We have an opportunity to take part in one of if not the greatest election in U.S history. I hope all who are reading this are researching, researching, & researching! This is more than electing a African American, War POW or a woman in to office. This is a chance for us to create history and change the direction of this country. It is no secret that our economy is in a horrible situation, people are losing there jobs, houses, and more. My family and I have been greatly effected by this great down turn, but this is not the time to lay down and think that all is over! More now than ever we as a nation must come together and make the difference that we all have the power to make. I get so frustrated with those who complain & complain but do nothing to help make changes! We are a choice nation! A nation that was started because our forefathers knew they could make the difference. They knew that a few that had the passion, desire & greatness was much more than a powerful government. Many times George Washington as a General had many less men who were starving, little to no clothes, many times not being paid, & not seeing their families for months on end. With these conditions we fought against the British who we all know were well equipped. Yes sometimes we lost, but the greatest and most important thing to remember is with these situations we won our Independence!!! Sometimes we feel this way. Our fellow Americans and even some of us are losing a lot that is dear to us. We feel as though the government doesn't care or no one hears our cries. It is true that we have lost a lot of trust in our government. But let us remember that it is not the governments responsibility to support us or pull us out of situations we might have put ourselves in. They are there to protect and serve. Are they failing in this? Yes.

We have become and raising a future generation of "people of entitlement" Our forefathers did not win our freedom telling the British that we deserve it! They earned it!! Some with great sacrifice & blood. We seem to be forgetting who we are and how we became.

It was great to see the 9/11 Presidential Forum last night. Both candidates spoke with no jabs or rude e comments of the other. There comments were based on service and how American must come together. I can't agree more. Our forefathers didn't want political parties, and here we are in the midst of a horrific & nasty election. I think the one thing that they are missing is the saying we all heard our parents speak,"Lead by example." I reflect on the emotions and actions of post 9/11. There was no black, white, poor, rich, Republicans or Democrats. It was all equal! It didn't matter who was on the planes, or who was buried in the rubble! We were all Americans!! Americans helping Americans. Where is this passion, love, charity, & service now? How soon we forget. Freedom doesn't pick and choose. It is for everybody!!

Growing up I remember that who you voted for was a personal thing and you could share it if you had the desire. This election, we must share, there is too much at stake to keep it to ourselves!

In the next 8 years there will be possibly 3 opportunities to elect Supreme Court Justices. This is one of my greatest concerns on who will be elected. I request that we all take this into consideration in our decision. Do we want higher taxes? Do we want to lose our right to bare arms? Do we want bigger or smaller government? Is diplomacy the only answer in foreign affairs?

Questions we all need to answer personally soon! This is the greatest country in the world. We all have the right to choose. I just hope we choose knowing the agendas & policies of who we consider.
